Certifying Coordinator

Maliha Khowajazada is a dedicated community health advocate with a background in psychology and education. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Kabul University in 2006 and trained in psychosocial support (PSS) and Community Wellness Focusing (CWF) under Pat Omidian and Nina Joy Lawrence, becoming a Certified Focusing Professional. Later, she advanced to Certifying Coordinator after mentoring eight students from Kabul University and training more than 700 community health teachers across the provinces of Kabul, Parwan, and Kapisa.

Maliha has collaborated with numerous international agencies, including the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC/Quakers), the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), and PARSA, as well as Afghan government ministries on educational and social welfare projects. She has also worked as a consultant for several local non-profits.

Now living as a refugee outside Afghanistan, she remains committed to supporting vulnerable communities and continues to pursue her lifelong mission of education, community wellness, mental health, and social change.
